Runner sizes

Pick a class and a size for each job. Both classes come in the same three sizes, so you can switch with one word in the label.

Write the label literally, as the whole value of runs-on. Use one Sengi label per job.

Basic or Premium

  • Basic has the lowest minute rate, on the same 2, 4 and 8 vCPU sizes as GitHub's runners. Start here.
  • Premium runs on AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPUs past 5 GHz with local NVMe, and builds nearly twice as fast as GitHub. Use it for long builds, Docker images and anything where waiting costs more than minutes. See Sengi Premium.

Mix both in one repository: a quick lint job on Basic and a heavy build on Premium.

Swap basic for premium in any label to run that job on Premium.

Disk and memory

The 2 vCPU size has about 12 GB free on / when a job starts; the 4 and 8 vCPU sizes have about 85 GB and 133 GB. The image and its tool cache use the rest.

Memory is a hard limit. A job that runs out of memory is ended and shows as failed or cancelled in GitHub. Run it again on the next size up.
