Free minutes
Every account gets 3,000 Basic credits each UTC calendar month. A minute uses 1, 2 or 4 credits for 2, 4 or 8 vCPU, so that is 3,000 minutes at 2 vCPU, 1,500 at 4 vCPU, 750 at 8 vCPU, or any mix. Unused credits do not carry over.
New accounts get 3,000 free Basic minutes a month, no card. Premium needs a payment method.
What counts as a minute
- Sengi meters the time GitHub reports between a job starting and finishing, and rounds it up to a whole minute once per job.
- Queueing, machine start-up and cleanup are never billed.
- A job that never ran costs nothing. If a fault on our side ends a job, we credit it in full.
Paying beyond the free minutes
Add a card on your project's billing page to keep running past the free credits. Usage is charged monthly after it happens, with no pre-authorisation or hold. Invoices are on the same page.
Without a card, new jobs wait for next month's credits once this month's are used; jobs already running finish at no charge. Jobs on free minutes can run for up to 2 hours each; a card on file lifts that limit.
